Swamp Adventure

Once upon a time in a beautiful forest lived a little mouse, he was a sweet little mouse, and a very funny little mouse...but he was also a curious little mouse...he loved discovering new places, and going on fun adventures, early one morning the sun was gently waking him up from his sleep, he got out of bed, and put on his slippers. He went downstairs to have some breakfast when he saw his cousin Max come in..."Haxley hello!" he said, "Hiya Max, I didn’t know u were here!" they sat together in the kitchen and ate toast and cheese with a hot cup of tea..."Let’s go on an adventure!" said Haxley..."Ohhh I know the perfect place, but...are you sure your brave enough?...you won’t chicken out will you?" said Max..."Were, where do you wanna go?" Haxley asked enthusiastically..."Ohhh you will see!" he said, "Your on Max, I'm big and strong, and I’m brave, and adventurous...I’m going!" The two of them packed a few things in a knapsack, and headed out the door...They walked thru the forest, and over the steep hill, they passed by the frog pond, and near farmer browns mill...they walked, and they walked...and little Haxley’s feet were getting sore..."Are we almost there yet?!" he asked..."Ohh we are almost there!" The forest was getting darker, and thicker, and a little more spooky...they were far, far from home, and deeper in the forest then Haxley had ever been...the trees were covered in moss, and there were unfamiliar noises coming from all around...Haxley would never admit that he was getting a little scared...the ground was getting muddier, and his boots were getting mucky..."Ohhh Max, where are we?...tell me!" Haxley said with a shaky voice..."Haha, we are at the swamp!"...Omg Haxley gasped, he was forbidden to ever go near the swamp...he knew he would be in so much trouble if his mom ever found out, and he was scared of dangerous animals that lurked there..."Max how could you do this...why would you ever bring me here?!...I wanna go back home right now!" he cried..."Ohhh Haxley you’re not chickening out on me are you...let’s just explore a bit, and then we will leave" Haxley didn’t wanna be called a chicken so he followed Max closer to the swamp...just then a big red crab, with one huge claw came at them..."Ahhhhhh" Haxley screamed and hid behind Max...the crab waved his big claw at them and yelled..."Leave...This is my swamp!" Max replied..."We are explores, and we are here to explore!" the crab waved his big claw again, and said..."You are here at your own risk...beware!!" then he scurried away...they walked near the edge of the swamp, the water was brown, and thick...the blackflies flew around them..."Ouch...they are biting me" Haxley cried...The sun was getting low in the sky, and he wanted to go home...just then they saw the water in the swamp bubbling...then they saw to yellow mean eyes...and heard a big roar..."GRRRRRR..." Max pulled Haxley’s hand and yelled..."Alligator....Haxley RUNNN!"...the both of them ran, and ran...then suddenly they saw a big monster fly at them from the sky...Haxley's little heart was pounding so hard...I’m gonna die here he thought...The big monster landed right in front of them...he was big, and green with huge bug like wings, and big black monster eyes...Max ran up to the monster...Haxley screamed..."Noooo, Nooo don’t Max he will eat you!" but Max just laughed and gave the big monster a hug..."Haxley this is my buddy Dippy the Dragonfly...he's not a monster!...he's our ride home...hop on!" Max sat on Dippys back, and reached for Haxley to get on too. Haxley held on tight to Max's waist as Dippy flew high above the trees...the view was fabulous...Haxley had never seen the forest from up here before...the sky was bright red, and the sunset was soooo beautiful...it painted the entire sky in crimson...Dippy flew fast...and before the moon even had a chance to come out, they were home...they thanked Dippy for the ride home, and waved goodbye..."So...how did you like the adventure at the swamp?" Max asked...Haxley just shook his head...."All I can say is thank goodness for Dippy!" they smiled at each other as they walked into the house...
