Once upon a time in a beautiful forest lived a little mouse, he was a sweet little mouse, and a very funny little mouse...but he was also a curious little mouse...and he loved discovering new things...one Saturday afternoon, on a warm and sunny day, he was in the forest playing hide and go seek with his mouse cousins Mattea, and her twin brother Maxim...the three of them loved playing together, and this game was their favourite, they would take turns hiding from each other, and then finding each other... Mattea was very tiny, and she was always able to squeeze into the smallest places, so when it was Haxley turn to find them he already knew he had to look very carefully for her...Max on the other hand could never sit still for long, so it was easy to find him cause he would eventually make some noise as he shifted, or scratched, or rustled about..."6...5...4...3..2..1...Ready or Not...here I come" Haxley yelled out...he first looked under the big mushroom...nothing, then into the hallow of the oak tree, nope...no one hiding in there...then, of course he heard a sound...swishh swishhh...he looked over at the green ferns near the river bank, Ahhh Ha!...he ran over and sure enough, there was Max playing with a little green grasshopper..."Gotchya Max ...ok, now let’s go look for your sister!" They looked behind rocks, and up in the trees, and under the moss, and over the logs, and inside the leaves, and next to the flowers, but Mattea was nowhere to be found... Hmmm where could she be? Then Haxley spotted something shiny near the river...it was a red soda can which must have drifted down the river from the little town nearby...as he walked closer, he saw a little grey tail..."Found you Mattea!" he said as he looked into the opening at the top..."Awww you sure did!" she exclaimed..."Wow how did you ever fit into such a small opening?" he asked, Mattea just giggled, and wiggled, and suddenly...the soda can shifted, and dislodged, it was being swept into the river by the waves..."Ohhh no!!" Haxley cried...MATTEAAAAA..." but she was already ways down the river, as the soda can bobbed up and down in the waves..."Max hurry, we need to save her!" They ran as quickly as they could...but they couldn't get to her fast enough..."Helpppp!!" She cried out...just then Billy the Beaver was coming back home, and heard her...he knew he could stop the soda can if he blocked it with a branch...he quickly, quickly started chewing on a big branch near the river...and just in time...the branch fell...and blocked the soda can from floating far away...he looked inside, and saw the drenched, wet little mouse, and helped her out. And wrapped her up in a soft leaf...Just then Haxley and Max arrived, they both gave her a big hug..."Are you ok?" they asked.."Yessss..that was scary...and funnn!" she smiled....they all laughed! "Next time you want to sail down the river, take a boat!" Haxley said... they thanked the beaver, and ran back to the forest to continue their favourite game...
