...Once upon a time.. In a beautiful forest, lived a little mouse, he was a very sweet little mouse, and a funny little mouse, but...he was a curious little mouse, and he was fascinated by the world..he loved discovering new things, and learning everything he could about the world around him...Haxley loved going to school, and he especially loved his new teacher Miss Yasmin... she moved to the Beautiful Forest from far, far away. All the way from the Emerald Forest which was part of the Brazilian Rainforest. He was so intrigued about the rainforest...sometimes during the lunch hour Miss Yasmin  would sit with Haxley and the other students in the sunny school yard and tell them all about the exotic animals, like monkeys, that lived in the rainforest with her..And about the huge colourful flowers, and mushrooms that grew there. She would talk about the adventures she had living in Brazil...Haxley's favourite story was the one she told them about celebrating The Carnival of Brazil...of the huge parades, and colourful costumes, and lively music...it sounded like sooooo much fun to him, he so much wanted to have a celebration like that.. Miss Yasmin made an exciting suggestion, she asked if they would like to put on a Carnival Fiesta Concert! Haxley and the other students loved the idea, they clapped their hands with excitement..."Ok kids, we have a lot of work to do!" First she taught them to sing a song, then she taught them the Samba...Haxley had so much fun learning the steps to such a fun dance...next they learned to make colourful costumes for the parade. Haxley had never sewed before...and because he had always been a little clumsy he pricked his little mouse fingers a few times on the needle...but he made the coolest costume...with feathers and ruffles, and sequence! He couldn't wait to wear it at the parade...On the day of the spring concert Haxley and his friends decorated the forest with colourful paper flowers they made, and hung jars filled with fireflies to light up the forest in a magical yellow glow. Miss Yasmin was thrilled..."Wow kids, it looks just like the Emerald Rainforest" She waved her hands for the kids to come closer.."Are you ready to celebrate Carnival?" Haxley was at the front of the parade, wearing his big purple hat, and a bright costume...singing, dancing, and playing the maracas...the rest of the kids in his class, and his favourite teacher all joining him. All the animals in the beautiful forest came out and joined them too, it was so much fun...they all danced, and sang, and partied late into the night...Before the concert was over Haxley hugged Miss Yasmin and said.."This has been such a fun night!" and she smiled at him and said, "Indeed it has been!" Haxley knew that one day he would visit Brazil, and join the Carnival there...
